Instructor insight

The Aquila is a superb modern trainer with excellent visibility and responsive controls. The glass cockpit prepares students well for modern aircraft. Handles crosswinds confidently and has very predictable stall characteristics. Popular with ATOs for integrated ATPL training.

Student experience

Higher hourly rate than traditional trainers. The bubble canopy can get very hot in summer. Some students find the stick control unusual if they've trained on yoke aircraft. Limited availability in the UK.
