Instructor insight

The C150 is the predecessor to the C152 and remains a solid ab-initio trainer. Slightly less power than the C152 but very forgiving flight characteristics. Many instructors prefer it for teaching basic airmanship due to its honest handling. The aircraft rewards good technique and clearly shows poor inputs.

Student experience

Performance is marginal on hot days or with heavier pilots. The older avionics can feel dated compared to modern trainers. Parts availability is becoming more challenging as the fleet ages.
