Instructor insight
The P2008 is an excellent modern trainer combining Italian design with practical engineering. The Rotax engine provides excellent fuel economy while the airframe offers benign handling. Very popular in UK flight schools for its low operating costs and student-friendly characteristics.
Student experience
Some find the castering nosewheel takes getting used to during taxiing. The Rotax engine sounds different to traditional Lycoming/Continental engines. Climb performance in summer can be modest.
